VitaPastor's 7 things you should avoid for better health.
Eating right and taking our vitamins helps us to live a healthy life, but there are a few things that we should reduce or eliminate from our lives. Here are seven things to avoid and one thing that could lessen the negative health impact if you do choose to do it.
1. Root canals and Mercury fillings Root canals harbor infections and raise your chance of having a heart attack. Where as mercury fillings are exposing you to a constant source of mercury which is a known toxin. Your body can get rid of mercury if it is working properly. I take Multi-Wow to raise my glutathione which is one of the ways your body can get rid of mercury, whether it is from fish or mercury fillings.
2. Red Meat (or drink one glass of red wine with it) Red Meat is associated with a raised chance of colon cancer. This alone is a good reason to avoid it, but there are many other reasons to avoid it as well. One example would be that the high iron content in red meat makes dangerous free radicals in your body. One way to help reduce the negative effects of red meat is to drink a glass of aged red wine with your red meat. Another way would be to take Multi-Wow that has red wine extract in it but no alcohol (which is a toxin and makes you gain weight). P.S. Red meat might be good for you if you are still growing or you are anemic, although if I was anemic I would take Vitamin C and B12 at every meal (both of which are in Multi-Wow). Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron from food and B12 helps your body use it.
3. All flouride Fluoride is generally used for helping your teeth. Some say it can lower cavity rate, but Fluoride is a toxin like lead or arsenic. Fluoride, over time, has been shown to increase bone fracture rates and increase genetic damage. It also may be linked to some cancers and worsen arthritis. If you want an alternative, all natural way to support hard teeth and lower your cavity rates, take Vitamin D3 (which is in Multi-Wow).
4. MSG (Monosodium glutamate) MSG can cause headaches and has been found to have many negative health effects. I would avoid or reduce MSG in my diet. I look at the label of the foods I buy. (Especially chips, boxed foods and soups) 5. GMO (genetically modified organism) The problem here is how most of the companies are using this technology. They are making plants that can live with lots of pesticides and herbicides in them, because they want to kill the weeds (which don't have resistance to the toxin) and keep the food (which now does have resistance to the toxin). Sounds good, but there is a problem. The food (that has the resistance) still has all those pesticides and herbicides in them, so when we eat it, we eat the toxins. You cannot even wash the pesticides or herbicides off, because they are in the plant. When you eat this GMO food, you get the herbicide with it. I try to avoid GMO's on principle because I do not think it is good to eat herbicides. However, avoiding them is harder than you might think. Most corn and soy are GMO's and lots of products have corn and soy in them. We need labeling requirements on all food. This would help people make informed decisions about what they want to eat.
6. Artificial Sweeteners - Artificial sweeteners are very bad for you with aspartame being the worst offender. If you have to drink or eat artificial sweeteners, then at least pick the best of the worst, which I would say is sucrolose. Better yet, use a natural zero calorie sweetener like Stevia.
7. Sugar - If you are above 15% body fat, you should avoid things with fructose in them. Fructose cannot be used right away by your body for energy and is turned into fat by the liver. Things that have fructose in them are: table sugar, high fructose corn syrup, honey, Guava nectar, and even fruit juice. Once you get your weight down, then you could add some honey and fruit juices back in. (One exception to this would be eating half of a grapefruit at each meal because grapefruit has a polyphenol that can help you lose weight).
You may not be perfect on all of these, but if you can work on taking as many of these things out of your life as possible, then you will have better health as you age. One small step you could take is to use a reverse osmosis water filter to take the fluoride out of your water. Let us have better health by making little adjustments to our lives.
