As we reflect back on Easter and look forward to the life we have in Christ, I wanted to look at 2 Timothy 2:9. It says that Paul was imprisoned, but the Word of God is not imprisoned. We have just been through holy week which talks about Jesus being imprisoned and killed - but even the grave could not keep him confined. If we look at the word "logos" in Greek, we see that it can stand for both Jesus Christ and the scriptures. John 1:1 talks about Jesus being the logos (word) and here (2 Tim 2:9) logos is used for the scriptures. We know that in the end, Jesus and his truth will triumph over all. However, here in 2 Timothy it is saying that, right now, the word of God is not confined or imprisoned. We can be confident that God's truth is going out and being active in people's lives. How is the word of God active in your life? Have you memorized any scriptures lately? Have you memorized 2 Corinthians 10:5? If not, I would challenge you to memorize it and then apply it to your life.
