A great tasting way to eat your kale is to make Zuppa Toscana soup and then put in extra kale. This tastes great and you get lots of lutein and Zeaxanthin. If you cannot eat your kale raw or juiced, then put it in your favorite foods. Try and make the food you eat healthier by adding greens and choosing foods that you like, but are a little healthier. Although Zuppa Toscana soup is not the healthiest soup, it is a great tasting soup. If you add extra Kale it is better for you and your eyes will be happy with you. You do not have to change everything at once to get more nutrition - just keep working on making your food healthier. One of the easiest ways to add something healthy is to take vitamins. Many people now know about vitamin D and they know that we can make it from the sun. What most people do not know is that you cannot make vitamin D from just any sunshine. You must have direct enough sun that the UVB's can get through the atmosphere and hit your skin. These UVB's then turn cholesterol (7-dehydrocholesterol) into vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is then taken to the liver where it is made into the active form of vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D). Where I live in Pasco, Washington you can make vitamin D from April 5th to September 5th. The trick is to know when you can make vitamin D on those days. As an example, the only time you can make vitamin D on April 5th is between 11:40am and 12:20pm. This time window keeps expanding until June 21 which is the biggest window (in the US) to make vitamin D. It then starts shrinking again until you cannot make vitamin D anymore. The window in Pasco gets as big as 9:20am to 3:40pm. This means that you can never make vitamin D in Pasco after 3:40pm on any day of the year!!
In Spokane, Washington the window is even smaller and you have to wait till the 9th of April at noon to start making Vitamin D. You need to know about which day and what time of day you can make vitamin D. Here are a few general rules I follow to make sure I get vitamin D from the sun anywhere in the US.
1. I do go outside at noon or as close as possible for 15 minutes.
2. I expose skin to the sun (being modest).
3. I go outside in the spring and summer.
You can only get vitamin D in the spring and summer in most places in the US.
I do not go out early in the morning or later in the evening. (you will not make any vitamin D)

According to some of the leading experts, Vitamin D can control over 1000 genes and can cut all cause cancer by up to 75%! This in itself is amazing, but vitamin D does so much more (Balance, muscle strength, blood sugar control, ect.). Make sure that you get enough vitamin D. I am looking for my blood levels to be about 70 to 80 ng/ml to get the higher anti-cancer benefits.

Eggs are kind of like a supplement for your essential amino acids. They have Lutein in their yolks which is good for your eyes (although you probably need to supplement or eat kale everyday to get the amount shown to help your eyes). The yolk is where most of the vitamins and nutrients are - so eat the whole egg. Another great nutrient in the yolk is choline, which may help prevent fatty liver, and is important in memory and muscle control. Choline is in all cell membranes and is very important for pregnant women. It is the precursor to a neurotransmitter that can help with memory. In fact I was just reading about the benefits of choline for those who have Parkinsons. Do not skip eating your egg yolks, so you can get the benefits of choline and all the other nutrients. Take Oatmeal and put it with eggs and you have a great breakfast! Oatmeal has lots of health benefits one of which is that it has lots of fiber that slows the uptake of sugar so you do not get a big sugar spike (add cinnamon for add benefit). Eggs are great as well. They have lots of L-arginine which needed for nitric oxide. Nitric oxide dilates your blood vessels (also called a vasodilator) and may have many health benefits. It may lower your blood pressure, decrease your chance of stroke and heart attacks (although more studies are needed to prove this). L-arginine is used to help maintain sexual health and at high doses it has been used to help increase HGH (a hormone). It is also used in wound healing and bodybuilding. Eggs are a great place to get L-arginine.

Eye health is very important. However, eye health is more complex than just one or two nutrients. Multi-Wow is formulated to support your eyes like few supplements are. Vitamin C is great!! It can be used as an anti-histamine. You have to take a lot of it (3,000mg at a time) to get this effect and it works even better when you add Quercetin, which also can be used as an anti-histamine and leukotriene blocker. I use 500mg of Quercetin with my vitamin C and the "side effect" is that you reduce your chance of getting cataracts (you need to take vitamin c everyday to get this "side effect"). Vitamin C also can lower your odds of getting gout! The more you take the more you lower your odds.
Oatmeal fiber has lots of health benefits because it can ferment into a short chain fatty acid. This fatty acid according to some studies might even lower colon cancer rates especially when paired with Vitamin D which is in Multi-Wow. This short chain fatty acid from oatmeal is also a gene target. This means it can turn off and on genes. It probably is not as strong as some of the most powerful gene targets but it is probably the cheapest. Gene targeting is how our genes are expressed in our bodies. If the right genes are active it promotes healthy aging. The goal is to get your genes to mimic calorie restriction with only eating the targeting agent. So you can eat your oatmeal and live better (and possible longer) too.
I was cooking and I thought that everyone should know that Coconut oil is a great oil to cook with because it does not get damaged by the heat. Most oils contain polyunsaturated fats, but coconut oil contains almost none. When polyunsaturated fats are heated up they can become trans fats which we know are very bad for you. Coconut oil also has health benefits and can be pored out at temperatures above 78 degrees or scooped out below this temperature. Next time you want to cook with oil try coconut oil.
